“The Burning” is a much better then average slasher. It has two things going for it. Tom Savini with fun kills and likable characters. A slasher with some likable characters is too rare. I never understood why in so many movies the victims are jerks or as interesting as bowling pins waiting to get knocked down. The movie only starts to lose some steam toward the end. Lots of running for a horribly burned guy.
